Our
Ethics.
For the betterment of the breed.
There are many wonderful groodle breeders out there who are working hard for the betterment of the breed and to ensure their dogs align with the expected temperament and quality of the groodle.
We are committed to ensuring our breeding practices align with the RSPCA’s standards for responsible breeders and an ethical code of practice. We do this by:
Ensuring we have planned litters that consider coat type, parent temperament and size to ensure they are well matched to their family’s preferences
We do not breed female dogs on their first heat, and restrict their litters to 2 to ensure they also lead full and rich lives as pets not just breeding dogs
We raise our pups as part of our family, exposing them to the sounds of a ‘typical’ household meaning their transition into your home is gentle on both you and the puppy
We ensure our pups are going to loving households who are capable of providing them with an enriched life with care for their physical and mental wellbeing
We work hard to ensure that we are breeding a happy and healthy dog for you that is health tested. All of the breeding dogs in our program are DNA profiled - whilst we cannot guarantee your dog will never get a disease, we test both parents carefully to ensure the chances of inheriting diseases is limited. A copy of your pet’s parent’s profiles can be made available at request.
We also ensure that our parents are hip and elbow scored. The hip score breed average for a groodle is currently 12. We do not use any dog in our program that scores above this. We also recommend our pups are not exercised more than 10 minutes for each month of their life, and that they do not jump off the furniture, have zoomies on tiled or wooden floors, and do not run up or down stairs for the first few months of their lives to allow for their joints to fully form.
All our puppies come microchipped, health checked by our trusted vet, and vaccinated.
We supply all new owners with a puppy pack and information kit to help transition their little buddy on those first few nights in their new home.
